Rain, Rain Go Away!

Seriously it has been raining forever.  The sun came out for a bit yesterday.  I headed to the beach for some Vitamin D therapy.

Here are some photos to show you what it has been like over here.

We got way more than 5 inches.  I think our May total was around 23 inches.  That is at the airport.  Other places got way more.IMG_1203

The May average is about 4 inches.

Airport runway.  Just a little pond.IMG_1208

This car went through this puddle ahead of he.  It had a sticker that said, “Just trust God”  So I watched them carefully as they maneuvered through it.  Then I went.IMG_1212

God is good!

Our neighborhood got a new infinity pool!IMG_1213

You know what all the moms did when it stopped raining?  Let the kids out.

Judging by the looks of it, we should have given them a round of antibiotics first!IMG_1219

Oh, did I tell you that they were out of school for 2 days?  Yep.  For rain.IMG_1222

Now the rain has stopped the huge puddles lakes have mostly subsided and we are expecting another storm coming in this afternoon.

Worse then the rain is the mosquitos.  As soon as you open the door, they pounce.  Awful.  They are little too, so I know they have just hatched.  Young and hungry!

I am supposed to be looking for a electronic mosquito trap thingy, but instead I am blogging about it.  My goodness I am a productive one!

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever can cause you to do things you'd never consider in, say July. Last Sunday, I knew we needed to do something different or else we were going to be peeling screaming boys off of each other for the rest of the afternoon. So I asked Jackson if he wanted to paint.
Paint? What? That's crazy talk! Why would I let a preschooler paint, when he goes to a perfectly good preschool twice a week? Because I am desperate people, desper-ate!

So he did a little of this.

But I couldn't focus on what I was really supposed to be taking pictures of. I kept trying to capture the real masterpiece(s). These eyelashes.

He doesn't appreciate them, of course, but I do.
Then today he comes into Miller's room and asks me why we have eyelashes. That was so random. So I told him they keep the dust and dirt out of our eyes. So he then says, "And they keep the crumbs out of our eyes too."
Umm yes, and the Parmesan!
