Jackson had a play date on Friday afternoon. Miller was quite upset to have to stay home with Allen and I. We asked him what he wanted to do with us. He said he wanted to go swimming.
Yep in January.
We rode bikes to the pool.
Miller loved it. I stayed nice and dry.
What did you do on January 25, 2013?
Most of you are probably wearing socks and cozy sweaters. Not us. We are still in full on Summer here. It has cooled off a bit, but the highs are still in the 80’s every afternoon.
Friday was a holiday here. {Discovery Day rather than Columbus Day in these Islands}. After 6 weeks of school the boys were in need of some dedicated play time!
We started out at the tennis courts hitting some balls. Jackson is really improving.
Later we had a playdate over here. Fishing, Legos and throwing stuff in the canal. Doesn’t get much more fun than that! Right?
We spent the middle of the day at our neighbor’s pool. The kids had a blast with the tube.
In the end we were very happy that no one got hurt and they kept themselves busy for a couple of hours.
We also capped our afternoon with a third playdate.
Playing, plying playing, It makes me tired just thinking about it! Lucky for me they were back in school today!
Warning picture overload!
These boys are always working on some kind of trick or another. Fortunately they are strong and we have managed to stay (mostly) in one piece despite their never ending dare devil tricks.
Miller is trying to learn how to surf and skim board—on a boogie board. He has no desire to use a boogie board in the manner in which it was intended!
Jackson is trying to learn how to do a flip into the ocean.
The pictures speak for themselves, so I’ll let you be the judge as to whether or not he was successful.
This went on for half an hour or longer. He never gave up or complained.
After all that he is not ready to go home for dinner.
It’s another beautiful hot and humid day here, so we’re off to the beach to practice our tricks!
Next up kite boarding!
Miller is getting really daring with his swimming. It is so nice to see because when we started swimming again he was skee-red!
Clingy, crying, the whole works!
Now it is jumping, spinning, cannon balling and generally being fearless!
There have been many instances where I’ve said that he is part monkey, part beaver. He is also part fish!
I bet he will have gills before the summer is over!
A monkeybeaverfish is a cute animal!
Already it feels like we go to the pool quite a bit, and summer vacation hasn’t even gotten here yet!
Frankly, I want to get as much use as I can out of the underwater camera before it breaks. Because we know it will break.
Jackson wants me to take a picture of every trick he does. So here goes Jackson’s magnificent pool tricks!
Warning!! The trick below should only be attempted by 5 year old boys or others who have no fear of not reaching their next birthday!
Jackson is very interested in taking pictures so some of these he took. He isn’t very interested in focusing or moving his finger off the lens, so this is best of the best!
Ok, so maybe I’m the only one who things those are funny.
And look who is not the least bit intimidated by the pool anymore! The Butterbean!
God help us! He will be doing flips off the side by the end of the summer. He swam into the side of the pool this day and is now sporting some scabs on his nose. Good times!
Because Jackson never gets tired of this …..
Allen might get tired of it, but he is always game for one more throw!
Good bye!
