Did You Notice?

In case you didn't notice, we went on a little trip. Like 9 days and nights without kids kind of trip! ***Warning, there are NO pictures of the Bug or the Butterbean anywhere in this post!

First we went to San Juan and did this.

The next day we got up and did this!

While we were scooting around we saw this.

That afternoon we got on our cruise.

The next morning we arrived in St. Thomas and went on a sailing and snorkeling trip. You'll never guess what we saw!

Yes! We saw a whale--actually 2 whales--in St. Thomas. A mama and a baby, who was nursing. Since the baby was nursing, the mama was close to the surface and moving really slowly. Until we got closer and then she decided she better move before I posted pictures of her privates all over then internet. Amazing is all I can say about that. Oh yeah, I touched a sea turtle and saw some Spotted Eagle Rays. After seeing a whale, it wasn't quite as exciting.
The next day we did this. MMMMMM.

Since I know you are getting a little bit green right now, I'll stop. But trust me there is more, much, much, more!

Birthday Wishes

I was fortunate enough to spend some great quality time with my grandparents when I was younger. As a mom it makes me so happy to have my boys get to spend quality time with their grandparents.
While we were in SC last week, it was Papa Joe's Birthday, so we went to NC and paid them a visit.
When Jackson hears about any one's birthday he only want to know one thing, "When are we going to eat cake?" Mama didn't raise no fool! And though it wasn't either Jackson or Miller's birthday, you would have thought it was. They had special sandwiches, cake, ice cream and anything else their sugar loaded bodies desired.

Jackson and Miller's favorite thing to do when they are there is throw rocks in the waterfall near their house. What is it about boys throwing rocks? My boys can't get enough.

The boys were last there in November, but even in a sugar induced stupor Miller still remembered right where the bubble juice is kept on their porch. Mind like a trap, I tell ya! Papa Joe was happy to indulge them.

It may have been their grandfather's birthday, but on that day, all their wishes came true!

In a few days Allen and I are going on a trip to celebrate our 10th Anniversary and the grandparents will be taking care of the boys. Jackson and Miller are going to wear them out, but I have a feeling that the grandparents will love every minute of being run into the ground!

10 Years & Counting

Yesterday marked Allen and my 10th wedding anniversary. He will tell you that it has been 9 good years, but I'll say it has been a wonderful 10 years. Some days better than others, but we are still enjoying each other, and occasionally learning new things about each other.
I tried pulling some pictures together, but then I ended up with 139 pictures. To keep your retinas from bleeding I made some collages. If you'd like to see them, you can click on them to make them larger.

The early years...

The middle years...

The DC years...

Happy Anniversary Allen. Thanks for being a wonderful husband!

Merry Christmas

For Christmas my lovely, thoughtful husband gave me a gift certificate for Washington Photo Safari.
You get to go with a group of people and a professional photographer and have a photo workshop among some of the best sights in DC. I chose the Cherry Blossoms, because, how can you not?
We met at 6:15 a.m. near the Tidal Basin. In case you are wondering, it is still night at 6:15 a.m.--don't let the a.m. part of that time fool ya! My sweet husband didn't want me walking in DC 15 minutes, from the closest parking area in the dark, so he and the boys got up and drove me down and dropped me off. Thanks sweetie!

All of my pictures keep on coming up in wierd order, so just pretend like I have the time and inclination to fix it. Thanks for being a part of my they are starting with the dark ones and going to the lightest ones

After our workshop was over I met up with these guys and we did a little sightseeing.

All these phots were taken between 6 and 9 a.m. Do you see all those people there? I vastly underestimated people's desire to get up early. However, now I get why they are so motivated!
