Winter Weather

Sometimes I miss the snow, but then again I don’t miss the months of cold that come along with the snow.  It seems like everyone has been suffering with the bitter cold this year.

Miller and our neighbor decided that it was a perfect day for a swim.

But it was an amazing weekend!

Sorry.  Not sorry.

Cold Snap

We have been experiencing real Winter Weather here.  Since we don’t have real Winter clothes, it has been particularly chilly.  I’m not kidding!

Winter Weather here is anything below 70 degrees. Seriously!

Yes, I realize that we kept our heat on 65 degrees when we lived in a colder climate.  Still!  It has been freezing.  I’m not even kidding!

Did I mention that we don’t have heat?  Or insulation?  I have to turn on the oven or take a bath if I want to warm up. Folding Laundry is also a way to keep warm.  For real!

At Jackson’s soccer game it was cold and rainy.  We had to huddle together to keep warm. We get hassled by our Bahamian friend when we say we’re cold!  I’m for real!

Jackson was even forced to wear a sweater.  I adore their winter uniform! I kid you not!

60 degrees is cold when the wind is blowing like crazy!  That’s no joke!

Allen has been in Chicago where they are having legit Winter.  Poor thing!  At least he has a coat! For real!

Fortunately Winter lasts about a week here!  I’m not kidding!

Winter

It’s Winter here.  We had chili last night.  I’m making soup now.

Look at that low.  It starts with a 5!

Apparently the Weather Service doesn’t feel it is necessary to compute wind chills at this level, but I’ll tell you that when you have 15-22 mph winds and it is 61 degrees outside, that’s cold!

The boys were made to wear long pants and long sleeves.  There was a lot of disagreement about that.

Since our house does not have any heat, I have to be tough and insist that they not wear shorts every day.

Poor us.

The boys are on Winter Break this week and I hope that the weather actually warms up a bit so we can enjoy the outside some more.

Tell me about your Winter Weather.

Warm Days or This Might Make You Jealous!

Technorati Tags: ,

This may be hard for those of you to read who are in the throes of Winter.  We have had some really warm days recently.  Like high 80's with 80% humidity.

The first day I suffered through the heat and humidity and took the boys to the park after Jackson got home from school.  Hot is hot, and getting sweaty at the park made us all a bit cranky.

The second day I took Miller to the park in the morning, but still sweated more than a lady should.  By that afternoon, the only alternative was to go to the beach.

We met some friends there and it was won-der-ful!  It was so wonderful that my friend, who also has a two year old, and I decided to hit a more remote beach yesterday.  A-maz-ing!  It was so amazing that we picked up our older children from school and went back to the "neighborhood" beach.  Per-fect.

Beach hopping on January 20.  Now that's what I'm talking about!

The bad news is that today it is overcast and we are going to have storms this afternoon and tomorrow, so my sweet, hardworking husband won’t get to enjoy what the boys and I are soaking up.

So far, so good on making the most of this experience!
