Christmas is truly my favorite time of year. I begin getting excited in the summer. I may be the only one who is thrilled when they start putting stuff out in stores in October. I look forward to decorating the house in Red and Green and even though it is a bit of work, the enjoyment we get out of it is worth every bit of work.
Our front door has been a work in progress. This year I ordered a Bronwyn Hanahan door hanger and it is so cute!
I decided to do the door decorations again that I have done in the past. I’ll have to devote a whole post to the door decoration though, because it was drama! Who knew there was going to be such a tough time with a few lights and some nylon mesh!?!
The Nativity set is the first Christmas item Allen and I purchased when we got married, so it is very special to us.
For now it is still placed up high, but the boys can use the Playmobil set we have for them.
The stockings are hung by the chimney stairs with with care. Even Aunt Chele has one!
We decked the halls of our house with some old favorites. The Santa collection has grown year by year and is always fun to put out. {I spy Scout!}
Of course when I updated the silhouettes we had to make new Santa hats. They boys think those hats are terrific!
The Christmas Card display is still a little skimpy.
Our postal service is slow here, but by the end of December it will look like this!
It dawned on me this year that I could use my vintage Christmas tablecloths {yes I have more than 1}, by layering a larger white cloth under them. I love me some vintage tablecloths!
The pewter Santa platter is much prettier when he is displayed with a vintage Christmas card and a balsam scented candle.
I love the pillows so much that I kind of wish they could be out all year long!
The tree is trimmed in the hundreds of ornaments we have collected over the years. We collect ornaments from every trip we go on. I’ve also bought ornaments correlating with the boys’ Halloween costumes. I’m still on the lookout for a mummy and a Domino’s Pizza ornament. Turns out there isn’t that much demand for Domino’s ornaments! Don’t worry I am sure Amazon.com won’t disappoint!
{why are trees so hard to photograph?}
We also have our Christmas books out as well as our Lego Christmas Village.
I really wish I could have everyone here to enjoy Christmas with us, but I hope seeing the pictures makes you feel like you’re here with us!
It all looks wonderful and festive!
