Boyhood

At ages 7 and 5 we are full on into boyhood.  As such there are several words that make my boys laugh so hard they snort and roll around.

I read somewhere that if you try to repress boys from exploring these words, it just makes the phase last longer.  So as much as possible, I let it go.  UGH!

As we were playing hangman the other day, this is what I got…

See that smile?  He can’t get enough!  Notice how many guesses it took me to get that word?  When he starts with that laugh, I know what he’s thinking!  {On occasion, I have used those words or underw__r to make them smile for a picture.  Hey it works for us!}NIK_3665

He also loves the word “duty”!  It sounds like another word for poop.  “Look mom!  That truck says Super Duty!”  Admit it, it’s funny!  Get it?  Heavy duty!  Hilarious!

I’m working hard to just roll with it.  If encouraging him makes this phase go away faster then we may be on the hunt for some Flarp!  to help us along.

One of my favorite children’s book authors is Robert Munsch wrote a book called, Good families Don’t.  I think it’s coming our way soon.

Boys!  Gotta love ‘em!
